Nivo is one of the first in financial services to achieve ISO 42001

What is ISO 42001?

ISO 42001:2023 is the world’s first international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS). It sets out a framework to ensure AI is developed and deployed responsibly, with strong governance, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement built in.

For financial services, where trust, regulation, and data security are critical, this is a big step forward.

Why it matters

Specialist lending is complex. There are multiple stakeholders, strict compliance requirements, and sensitive customer information at every stage. AI has the power to make these processes faster and more efficient, but only if it’s managed responsibly.

By achieving ISO 42001, Nivo can demonstrate that our AI is not only effective but also aligned to the highest international standards of governance and compliance. This gives lenders and brokers the confidence that when they use Nivo AI, they’re working with a platform designed to deliver innovation without compromising trust.

Another step in our journey

This achievement builds on our long-standing commitment to security and compliance, including our ISO 27001 certification for information security. With ISO 42001 now in place, we’re embedding responsible AI governance into the heart of our business.

"AI is moving fast, but in financial services you can’t just move fast and break things, you need to move fast and do things properly. Our ISO 42001 certification demonstrates exactly that. We’re incredibly proud of our team for reaching this milestone, and committed to continuing to set the standard for secure, compliant AI services in specialist lending."

Looking ahead

We’re proud to be one of the first in the sector to achieve ISO 42001, but we see this as just the start. As AI becomes an even bigger part of financial services, we’ll continue to make sure our technology is not only transformative but also secure, responsible, and trusted.
